Dignity for All campaign leaders welcome announcement of consultation process for a national anti-poverty plan.
On December 6th, MPs voted down Bill C-245, the Poverty Reduction Act. This bill would have legislated a framework for a national poverty reduction strategy. The final vote was 238 to 52.
Today in St. John’s Newfoundland, Premier Paul Davis hosts the summer 2015 meeting Council of the Federation. In this meeting, Premiers from across Canada will take a moment to discuss issues that they consider priorities leading up to the federal election this fall.
